Privacy Policy

Last updated: 13 September 2026

Cheap Trips is currently a demo. Search results use placeholder/stub pricing data, not real fares or availability — see the affiliate disclosure for what changes once real bookings go live.

This policy explains what information Cheap Trips ("we", "us") collects when you use this site, and how it's used. We aim to collect as little as possible.

What we collect

When you run a search, we store the search parameters you enter:

We do not currently require an account, email address, or payment details to use the search feature, and we do not collect them.

Technical data

Like most web servers, our infrastructure logs standard technical data for security and operational purposes — IP address, timestamp, and requested URL. This is used to keep the service running reliably and to detect abuse (for example, automated request flooding), and is not used to build advertising profiles.

Cookies and local storage

The search page itself does not set tracking or advertising cookies. If a future version adds accounts, we'll update this policy before doing so.

Third parties

The results map loads map tiles directly from OpenStreetMap, which will see the IP address of your browser when tiles load, under their own privacy terms. No other third-party trackers or analytics are embedded on this page.

How long we keep data

Search records are currently retained indefinitely while the product is in active development. A defined retention/deletion schedule will be published here before real bookings go live.

Your rights (UK GDPR / EU GDPR)

If you're in the UK or EU, you have the right to:

To exercise any of these, contact us at privacy@cheaptrips.example (placeholder — replace with a real monitored address before public launch).

We'll update the date at the top of this page whenever this policy changes materially.
